Furthering the ‘Digital India’ theme, Uttar Pradesh has topped in e-procurement among all the states in India.
This was announced during a recent workshop of the Central Public Promotions Portal (CPPP) in New Delhi, where UP was feted as ‘Best Performing State in Country’.
In the current fiscal 2018-19, a total of 160,882 e-tenders valued at Rs 129,000 crore have been processed, averaging 20,735 tenders/month. Last fiscal, 187,875 e-tenders valued at Rs 195,000 crore were released at an average of 19,485 e-tenders/month.
In 2016-17, 15,117 e-tenders of Rs 82,528 crore were processed with an average of 1,692 e-tenders/month. A total of 3,94,745 e-tenders worth almost Rs 615,000 crore were purchased in UP from 2012 to 2019.
Most e-tenders were processed by power distribution company (discom) Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, which had issued 49,014 e-tenders, which was 26% of the total tenders processed.
At the second place, UP Public Works Department (PWD) processed 44,079 e-tenders, which was 23% of the total tender value. Besides, 25,395 or 14% e-tenders were issued by the local bodies directorate.
