Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jhansi on February 15 to lay the foundation and launch various development projects in the arid zone of Bundelkhand.
His Bundelkhand visit will also bring in focus the self acclaimed pro-development agenda of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governments at the Centre and Uttar Pradesh ahead of the crucial 2019 Lok Sabha polls merely a few weeks away.
Yesterday, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath had visited Jhansi and reviewed preparations ahead of Modi’s visit to Bundelkhand, which has already been gifted two mega projects viz. Bundelkhand Expressway and Bundelkhand Defence Corridor.
Besides, Modi is scheduled to visit his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi four days later on February 19 and launch projects worth nearly Rs 2,000 crore.
The battle for the Lok Sabha polls in UP is slowly getting intense with the state gearing up to witness a triangular contest between BJP, Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP)-Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) combine. UP accounts for the maximum 80 LS seats and is key to any political outfit or formation looking to capture power at the Centre.
